FIGHT YOUR BATTLES
“Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and … said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?” (1 Samuel 10: 1)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
When Samuel anointed Saul as king of Israel, he described him as captain over God’s inheritance. A captain is a warrior; a captain is a military commander. Saul was anointed to lead his people in their battles; he was anointed so that he could fight battles. His elevation placed a demand of warfare on him.
Friend, God says, arise and fight your battles. Challenge the enemy at the gates. Fight and defeat the satanic forces against your family, city, nation, etc. Thresh down the nations; pull down the strongholds of the enemy; crush the forces of darkness; you were raised to lead others in battle; you were raised to defeat the enemy through continuous and consistent warfare prayers.
It may be more convenient to live like a mere civilian, but Christianity is a call to warfare. Being a Christian puts you in direct conflict with the forces of darkness, and God says, you have what it takes to fight and defeat them.
You have what it takes to win all your battles; you have what it takes to be a victorious warrior in 2016. The battles you face have the capacity to build your spiritual muscles and strengthen your fighting skills if you face them squarely.
In 2016, put on the armour of God so that you can withstand the attacks of the enemy. Don’t dwell in spiritual sleep and slumber. Don’t fold your arms and watch the devil make incursions into your territory while you do nothing.
Ephesians 6 vs. 13 says: “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand”.
Pray With Me: Lord, I will fight and win my battles in 2016, in Jesus’ name!
