American gospel singer, Jonathan McReynolds, is billed to perform at the BET AWARDS ’20 on Sunday, 28th June, 2020.
The American gospel star has been a big figure on the American as well as international gospel scene as his amazing music style, sonorous vocals and persistent work have stamped him as a relevant force in gospel music and music culture generally.
McReynolds was born in Chicago, Illinois, on September 17, 1989, as Jonathan Caleb McReynolds. He was raised by a single mother with love and support from his family, church members and his pastor at New Original Church of God in Christ.
He learned to play the drums at five years old, the piano at eight, and showcased his talents weekly as a church musician. He attended Whitney Young Magnet High School, where not only did he become known for his musical talents, but also learned how to record and produce music, as a member of the school’s podcast initiative. Those skills would prove to be significant in college as he recorded his first songs including his first viral hit “No Gray” in his dorm room.
He has recorded and released a handful of masterful gospel songs and albums which have received commercial success and critical acclaim even from artists of other genres and cultures.
He has released three albums namely: “LIFE MUSIC”, LIFE MUSIC: STAGE TWO, MAKE ROOM and most recently, a full visual EP titled “PEOPLE”.
Jonathan McReynolds has performed at the BET AWARDS before and as of June 2019, Jonathan co-stars as a judge with Kirk Franklin, Kelly Price and Erica Campbell, on Season 9 of BET’s Sunday Best.
He will be performing again at the BET AWARDS ’20 ceremony which is set to kick off at 8pm ET (1am, Monday 29th June, West African Time). We look forward to seeing his wonderful performance!
