MSCHF to Refund those Who Purchased ‘Satan Shoes’

MSCHF, the company that partnered with Lil Nas X to make the now-infamous “Satan shoes,” has reportedly settled with Nike after Nike them for using one of their products without permission, CBN News reports.

According to a statement obtained by CBN News, Nike reportedly stated that

“MSCHF has agreed to initiate a voluntary recall to buy back any Satan Shoes and Jesus Shoes for their original retail prices, to remove them from circulation.”

As Christian Headlines previously reported, singer and rapper Lil Nas X worked with MSCHF to modify 666 pairs of Nike shoes to feature Satanic symbols and the Bible verse Luke 10:18, which talks about Satan’s fall.

The soles of the shoes also reportedly contain a drop of human blood per sole.

In 2019, MSCHF also produced and sold “Jesus shoes”, which contained holy water from the Jordan River.

Nike, however, was not involved in the production of either shoe, leading a judge to ax the shoes’ production and sale in response to Nike’s claim of intellectual ownership.

In Nike’s original complaint against MSCHF, they wrote,

“MSCHF is currently taking orders for shoes it refers to as Satan Shoes, which are customized Nike Air Max 97 shoes that MSCHF has materially altered to prominently feature a satanic theme.

This was done without Nike’s approval or authorization, and Nike is in no way connected with this project.

The material alterations include at least referring to the shoe as the Satan Shoe, adding red ink and human blood to the midsole, adding red embroidered satanic themed detailing, adding a bronze pentagram to the laces, and adding a new sock liner.”

Previously, a judge told MSCHF to decommission the shoes at once.

MSCHF attempted to argue that the shoes were “art pieces” being sold to collectors, but the judge rejected this notion, ultimately siding with Nike.

Many people reportedly boycotted Nike over the Satan shoe, thinking it was officially sanctioned by Nike.
